Its not a family reunion unless everyone gets sick...

Craig and I decided a while ago that MLK weekend would be the perfect time for him to take a couple days off of work to go visit his family in Phoenix...
Then I decided that would be a perfect time for me to go to Utah to see some long lost friends and cousins, then Gilbert to see my big sis and then finally meet Craig at the final destination- which turned out to be a Cannon family reunion.  We felt so loved that all his siblings came to town for our visit. And we were so happy to get to see all of them.... but mostly all of their cute kids :)

Utah was a blast.  I stayed with 2 of my best friends and we stayed up late talking girl talk every night and  I got to go to all the places I dream about when I am on the other side of the country (Cafe Rio, Guru's, Zupas, J Dawgs, Magleby's fresh.... the list goes on)
I also found out, as you know, that we are having a girl.  Yay!! Katy and Kathleen joined me at my ultrasound. They cried. I did not. Surprise surprise.  Craig was on speaker phone and getting mad at how much money I was spending for the whole world to hear.... but he was very excited we were having a girl. (He posted the ITS A GIRL post while on the phone with me) (oh and immediately afterward he went online and shopped the baby girl clearance at Old Navy... haha... meanwhile I was AT the mall and avoided all stores. Good girl... but that didn't last very long.)

Next stop was Gilbert.  I got to play with Ashlee and her cute kids and her new dog...(love her kids) (not such a dog fan) We took Siena on a long walk every morning and I was in HEAVEN with the gorgeous weather. It was perfect. NIce and relaxing.  I had to prepare myself for the 4 days of 11 kids running around!

Then Craig flew in and we went to Phoenix to see his family. Craig is a mommas boy and was so happy to see his mom. His sister Courtney drove her 5 kids from California to see us (even though they were there 2 weeks earlier for the holidays). The oldest brother Casey drove down from Vegas with his wife and their 4 kids... two of which threw up on their way.  Let the fun begin. :)  John and Stephanie (the newlyweds) came down from Provo, Mandy let us stay with her and her 2 little girls, and Brad even came home early from work a couple nights for dinner and games.
We felt so loved.
Craig's mom never stopped cooking and cleaning the kitchen. She is the greatest. His dad was kind enough to take the kids on a hike and provided us all with delicious orange juice made from their citrus trees.
Good food, good times.
And then it seemed like people never stopped throwing up...
First it was Casey's kids on their drive over.
Then it was Mandy's girls.
Then it was Seth...
Then it was Mandy...
I think more of Courtney's kids got it upon their arrival home...
and now I have it....
Thank goodness I made it home first. But no fun at all.
Besides that nice little souvenir...
We thoroughly enjoyed the perfect weather and Craig's awesome family. I learned some new crafts from the crafty Cannon girls.  Betsy already made me a baby blanket. And I scored at last chance, target, the outlets... the list goes on.

It was a great trip.  Now we are back to the cold and reality.  But its always good to be home.

Wow that's great snaps. Thanks for sharing with us. The great gift of family life is to be intimately acquainted with people you might never even introduce yourself to, had life not done it for you. Family website
