O.M.GOSH.

Gorgeous weather. AMAZING seats. Really- amazing. Gwen Stefani would have enjoyed my seat more than her own.
I felt myself feeling guilty when I started cheering for Del Potro. I went into the match not knowing what would come out of my mouth when I started yelling... But then the first set was just too easy for Federer. The guy doesn't even break a sweat. And I am looking at Del Potro, this 20 year old kid working his butt off to win 3 games off of the best player in the world... and then I knew I wanted to see that moment... him throwing himself on the floor because he has playedfor 4 hours against the best player of all time, and he won, tears of happiness flowing, sobbing even... I just wanted that moment. Selfish really. But I never thought it would actually happen!
But I got what I asked for... A great match and the sobbing young man on the service line. Epic.
I would also like to mention that I was definitely in the minority cheering for Del Potro. He definitely needed me on his side, and I will take some responsibility for his triumph. Considering I was close enough for him to hear me clearly... and considering I was one of few encouraging him... I was kind of expecting a hug or high five afterwards. But whatever.
ANYWAY- the match was great... and during some of the low points I found myself stargazing... Gavin and Gwen(gorgeous), the Olsen twins (never took their sunglasses off...weird)(boyfriends look like tool bags), Jack Nicholson, Regis, Matthew Broderick(Matt...bring SJP next time. You are lame) etc etc.
Anyway I am so happy for Del Potro. What an amazing feat for him. And Federer, dear Federer...you might have lost this one...but you will always be a winner to me- You are a ridiculously good tennis player... and you have a cute wife and twins so that makes me like you too. You will be back on top in no time.

okay I don't even keep up on tennis, but I love your enthusiasm and I'm jealous of your seats, don't you think SJP was home with the twins? Ya, right, that's what the nanny is for, she's probably filming the sex and the city sequel.

I'm SO jealous. I would have loved to be there and see that match. What a cool experience. And I for one have to say I'm glad Federer lost. I get sick of him winning all the time. It's nice to see an upset once in a while.

Wow!! I am super jealous. I really got into the Open this year and I too cheered for Del Potro - from my couch. I loved how he cried when he was speaking after and I was upset that what's his name kept ignoring him when he asked if he could say something in Spanish.
