I am frustrated today because I am not sure if I am in love with the paint color I chose for my living space...
I have only painted one wall. I really have no choice in the matter now so I am hoping I will like it more when it is all done with a second coat...
Am I being super boring painting my walls a soft gray? And my kitchen off-white? I am a huge fan of color, but I am also a huge fan of soft neutrals... I hate making decisions alone. But like I said- the choice has been made and now it will be seen through until the end. If I hate it, I will just have to wait to choose a better paint color next year.
I painted my kitchen off white a few days ago and put up a random collection of plates I picked up at the thrift store. I like the white patterned plates subtle contrast with with the creamy walls... I am a fan of my random plates. Definitely screams "thrift store chic" Can you guess which one is not a thrift store find?
Today I hope to find a rug for the kitchen and to mark that little number off my long to-do list.
The thought of tackling my bedroom/living room is overwhelming right now. What have I gotten myself into?
I need to sell our bed, buy a bed, sell our TV, buy a TV, rearrange layout, paint walls, find or possibly have to make curtains, find rug(found one I like so I guess I have to wait a couple months until my budget allows the purchase of said rug), accessorize...I am guessing everything in my etsy cart will be gone by the time I am ready for purchasing. SO I will have to shop etsy again... or the Brooklyn Flea market(my friend went yesterday and got me excited to try it out sometime) to find some cool details.
lkdajgkjbdfkgljsnfdlkjndlkjfs... wish me luck. When do I get to hire a work crew to do all the dirty work for me? Or better question...where is my husband? Grrr.
PS most of the time I don't mind not having a car... but last week I could have really used one. Something so simple can become a huge pain in the neck (literally) when you lack a vehicle.
After purchasing, paying for delivery, and building drawers to fit in my thrift store armoir... the drawers were too big by about 2 cm. SO then I had to carry two sets of drawers to the street, walk down the street and find a cab, tell the cab to come meet me by my drawers, load up cab, pay for cab, let people on street help me carry drawers into store (thank goodness for the kind people) purchase size smaller drawers, pay for delivery again, build again. Fun.
Things like that and carrying 2 1/2 gallons of paint home with supplies is convincing me that next time I want to redecorate I need to be rich or have a car...or a strong husband? (I mean... what could he be doing that is more important that redecorating?!)
Thanks for letting me vent... now I need to get back to work... and maybe get a massage...? Husband? Ha.

Our entry and dining room are a light grey and I really like them. It looks like you will work in the color other ways. I can't wait to see the finished product.
i think the octagonal plate is from anthro??? hmmm... what does the winner get?
i love the plates! how do you hang them?
Not the octagon...that was a dollar. What should the winner get?And I used those command strips to hang them.
Those seemed easiest and they seem pretty sturdy.
Love the plates, off white looks great, and grey sounds fab. Just breathe.
